Jon passes brochure he’s been developing. Explains GA form for the day,
consensus decision making, progressive stack, hand signals.
Early Bird Soapbox: Mike Howell we have a problem with oppreson here –
Capt. Black/CBD issue, Robert also still has charges pending and we should
be there at his court date. We need to address these issues. What is
planned is a Feb 8 2pm Solidarity Action at Courthouse. The DDD does
business down here (CBD) and is our enemy.
Cian (new guy passing through) introduces himself traveling to LA visiting
Occupy groups still active.
Norman Oaks: There’s a history of groups setting themselves up to say what
you can and can’t do. When that takes away from what we want to do we need
to stand up. Wake people up.
Jon: This is a Discussion GA so we won’t decide on any proposal today.
There is no urgent proposal at this time. Asks for consensus to continue
as a Discussion GA. Consensus given.
ASKS FOR A VOTE first on the pending “2 GA’s needed to pass a proposal”
since opened as a proposal on Tuesday. Vote taken 2 GA’s needed passes.

of this protest. DAWG (Direct Action Working Group)

Occupynola.net is working on launching a chat room, working on this with
Djoma.
Facilitator: reminds to try to hold questions until break (Q & A)
OccupyTheLot: down to 4 campers at lot. Miz Beverly’s backyard is
improved. Participation from neighborhood has picked up and City showed up
to fix broken water pipe leaking into the street. Those left need more
food donated. Could use a food bank run.
OccupyTheStage: tonight a Flash concert after Krewe de Vieux at Esplanade
and Decatur.

Mikal Nola 6AM I was up listening to John Lennon and the song was “We All
Shine On” – “Try to have a song in your hear and move forward.”
Mike Howell Israel might attack Iran is a current issue. I would be
opposed. Whether they are or they aren’t developing nuclear weapons is
that if you’re on bad terms with the U. S. there’s a move to develop
nukes. We don’t want to support an unprovoked attack. We should consider
cutting off military support to Israel. May 1st Chicago might be an action
to converge these two topics.

Cutting aid to Israel will flag you as anti-semetic. We need to be mindful
of maintaining our nonviolent oriented statement.

I have felt the obligation to attend every GA because of what mischief
could happen in my absence. I mostly agree with new facilitation
guidelines. I disagree on the disciplinary action. Some rules during the
occupation need to be examined.

MLK’s Beyond Vietnam will be April 8th – April 8 is the anniversary of
King’s asassination. My father said in 1968 “I know why I was going to
Germany but I don’t know why you are going to Vietnam” So I didn’t go to
Vietnam. Listen also to “Masters of War” by Bob Dylan. WE CAN’T PUSSYFOOT
ABOUT THIS – WE CAN’T WAIT TO PROTEST. NO ATTACK SHOULD BE MADE ON IRAN.

F29 (February 29th Occupy Portland called for a protest aimed at ALEC a
legislative group responsible for a lot of shit. Some pointed action is
suggested – it might be the NBT (next big thing).
